Richard Younger is an accomplished singer/guitarist and songwriter. He calls himself “A Purveyor of Fine Tunes.”
“I am a songwriter,” he says, “but I have no problem playing other people’s material. If it’s a good song—whether by The Kinks, Arthur Alexander, Tin Pan Alley, Nick Lowe, ISB—and if I believe in it, I’m not covering it, I’m interpreting it ”
Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, Richard moved to Durham this past August. Earlier in his career he put out records with The Treble Boys (“Julie-Anne”) as well as a solo LP (“Blue Horses”), and performed in Amsterdam, Denmark, London, and at SXSW, NY’s Folk City and CBGBs.
As a preschool music teacher for the past twenty years, Richard’s audiences have been young children. But now in NC, he’s eager to share his talents with music lovers of all ages. Come and join Richard at Zin Yoga & Wine on October 6th, 6:30 P.M. for his NC debut.
